Anna and Josh thoroughly enjoyed this CNY. We are really glad that we came back home to celebrate with everybody at home. Not just the yummy food but the atmosphere is totally different.
On the first day of CNY, we visited my parents' place and the first thing they offered the kids were BAK KWAs. They ate ate and ate, almost non-stop till I had to stop them from over-eating. Sigh. . . its such a joy to see them enjoying the festivities and company of grandparents!
One of our favourite, hopefully with less colouring is the ice-kachang with gula-melaka. Even Anna took a liking of it despite the lack of pink colour. She likes most of the topping except the red beans, whereas for Josh, he likes everything even the red beans. He is really quite a Singaporean boy although born in Australia, ha!
Anna was playing with the cam and this was one of the many she took. Turned out to be quite good. She was very keen in taking the lanterns with us in them.
We had a lovely dinner at Swensen's the weekend before we were due to depart. The kids enjoyed the delicious ice-cream. I must say Josh is catching up on his taste-buds!
Josh did not 'manage' the climb on the wall but he sure did on me! I was just having a break from a climb and he came pounding on me.
Here is Josh enjoying the place as well. He can literally fall all he wants and I am not worried. HAHA!
The 2 girls having a go at the wall as well! Its really nice to see them taking up the challenge. Initially, Anna was relectant but with encouragement from Sarah, she was game.
Sarah celebrated her birthday at SAFRA and we had a wonderful time revisiting our past. I must say that when I saw the walls, really cant help but put my hands and legs on those tiles!
After brekki at Mac ECP, the kids loves playing at the playground. Now that Josh is bigger, more aware of his surroundings, he thoroughly enjoys the slide and tunnels.
One of the many things we like about being home is the very easy available ice-blended/bubble tea, cheap as well.

Josh was running a fever for a few days and so we decided to bring him to see a GP. This is the blood test result that was taken at clinic. Check out the super-low platelet count - so low that the doctor said he might be having dengue fever. Doctor advised us to bring him to A&E, which we did soon after. Repeated blood test, Dr in A&E said that looking at Josh's level of activity and strength, he really doubt that he has dengue fever. 
Anna enjoyed getting her hair cut during our trip back home. The second and third cut were just 2 weeks apart. Thank goodness the cuts were just $10!
Anna and Josh having a good chase of one another. Since gaining mobility, Josh has been taking off on his own and not caring whether we are looking or not.
What a great celebration! What a great catch-up!
As usual, we did not spend heaps of $$$ ordering cartoonised-cake but stuck to our all-time favourite: Mango Mousse cake from Jack's Cake House.
Initially we thought that there would be more than sufficient food for all. Lo and behold, we wept out almost everything. The well-marinated chicken wings were a hit by both young and old. The otak: spicy and non-spicy were well-loved too! Not forgetting the tau kua pok, delicious.
A BIG THANK YOU to Godma Joan for organising the games for the kids. They had an enjoyable time!
We made hand and foot prints for Josh on a poster so that those who attended the birthday could pen down some well-wishes. Actually it was more a record of the sizes of his hands and foot at one year old.
Yes indeed I have been very outdated in my blogging. Once Frank finished his last paper and Anna finished her last day at Junior Kindy, we left for home the very next day.
