Aslan came to visit

As part of encouraging good behaviour in school, Aslan get to visit any child's home. So last Monday, Anna came running out of classroom with this huge lion named Aslan. She said that she was chosen to be the first to bring Aslan home for an adventure. Apparently, a booklet would be taken home with Aslan as well. The parent is suppose to write an account of what the child did with Aslan and send the booklet and Aslan back the next day.

So, on the way back home, Frank was crafting out an adevnture for Anna and Josh. Anna enjoyed her time with Aslan. They were both cuddled up in bed that night. Both slept soundly.

Ending the Party with . . .

The Pinata! Anna being the birthday girl had a go at it first followed by the rest of her friends! As I wanted the game to last a bit longer ie suspend, I gave them the kitchen towel roll as a 'weapon'. However, in no time, the kids were complaining that the weapon was too small and soft to hit the Pinata! So, we upgraded them to using a broom!

In the end, the Pinata fell from the string but still intact. So our kind neigbour gave us a strong stick and the children did themselves a favour . . . out came the lollies!

Finally. . .

Anna was telling Auntie Annie that she wanted a small slice of cake but wanted the 'PINK' butterfly NOW! Was so funny.

A Quick Family Pic

Well well, Anna can't wait to cut the cake and eat the lollies decoration. So we had to do a quick one!

Cake and All

So we finally got all the candles lighted and sang happy birthday. Mama made this number 4 cake for me. It has butterflies and flowers on it and of course I asked for pink icing! Yummy. . .

After singing the birthday song, all the kids had a go at the party poppers!

Cutting the Cake

It was amazingly windy and Uncle Henry and PaPa had a hard time trying to light the candles. Well, its not just 4 candles but 13 letter candles spelling out 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'! Mama said it would be fun blowing out the candles with my friends. Indeed my friends were so willing to help! *Grin*

Anna's 4th Birthday Party

Welcome to my Party! We had party hats, bubbles and balloons.

At the start of the party, we had some games such as Treasure Hunt followed by Pass the Parcel. We then had some food. Mummy made us yummy cupcakes, pizza, sausages, fishballs, chocolate cake and tea cups biscuits.

The adults had Mee Siam that Papa cooked, tumeric chicken, roast lamb, Popiah, 9-layers cake, baked tapioca, almond jelly Longan (i think that's all).
We all had a good time playing and eating.

BTW, the preparation started almost a week ago and the baking/cooking started on Thursday and ran through till the start of the party. Its amazing how we managed to do it. Frank asked me would we do it again next year. . there was a bit of a hesitation from me to say 'YES!' but will see.

Getting Ready

This was the night b4 the birthday party. Anna and F were blowing up balloons. Anna was so excited that she can't wait for her friends to come!

Cotton Sponge Cake

I wanted to make pandan chiffon cake but because I did not have the cake pan, I decided to make this instead. Looks quite good on the outside but taste alright somehow. Perhaps I was thinking of the paper sponge cake back home.

Baked another chocolate cake (no pic), rying out the recipe so that I can use it to make Anna's birthday cake. We are going to have a mini celebration for her here next week, just for friends from Cell group. She is really looking forward to it. We even had the Pinata decorated!

Much support needed

Well Josh does not really like the high-chair nor the car-seat. With the high-chair, he still needs pillows for cushion and support.

First Taste of Solids

Josh is 5 months and 1 week and we had him started on semi-solids. Its apple puree today and he rather enjoyed it except when the food was not given to him fast enough - he screamed his displeasure aloud! Other than that, he frowned half the time the food went into his month.

Semi-solids

Josh made his way to the high chair last week and is now on semi-solids - apple puree (hand mashed by Cindy) and some rice cereal thingee (instant). Like Anna, he seems to love his food and was more than willing to open his mouth and move his head forward from the very first spoonful haha.

Oesophageal Intubation

Here's a 34 year-old student, sweating it out, putting a tube into a cow. A cow has"four stomachs" and the tube goes into the biggest one (called a rumen) where bacteria digests plant material and multiply rapidly using the nutrients released from it. The bacteria then passes further down the gut and is digested, thus, providing the cow with a source of amino acids for making your...wonderful steaks!

My Mother's Day Present

This is the canvas that Anna and PaPa painted for me. Did not receive the gift until recently as the oil paint took some time to dry. Well, it turned out to be the most fantastic gift!
