Who spoilt the kid? 15.5 months

One of Josh's first ice-cream on a stick. He loves it and somehow when he was half way through it, he wanted to exchange it for mine, which I was just about to enjoy it.

School ends for another Sem break

Frank just got home and he was so excited to take a pic in the scrubs he was wearing. Mom actually made this for him.

Clearing. . .the house

Last weekend, I found extra energy in clearing stuff in the house (in anticipation of the move in Dec).

This red wall in the lounge, which is covered with Anna's painting since we came, will be the first to be cleared (partly due to the slight discolouration of the paint).

Well, we told Anna about it and she was rather excited to the clear the paintings. Not much unwillingness!

A walk at the park

Its been a while since we went to the park in the morning for a walk. It was a lovely day and despite sleepiness, Josh was awake throughout the walk. He thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and the flora. Likewise for Anna, she likes the nature. As for us, its the fresh air!

Arts Festival

This year's Arts Festival was held on the last day of Term 1. The theme for Kindy was 'Living Things'. Anna was dressed up in a bright green dinosaurs, while her best friend, Lauren was a ladybug and Cassidy was a cute little bunny.

Favourite time of the day

Its the kids' favourite time of the day - when Frank comes home from school. Josh enjoys sitting on him while he tries to study. Sometimes when bored, Josh would reach out for the keypads, play with the stapler, pens, pencils or anything that is within his reach.

Louis was brought home by Anna two week ago for good behaviour in class. We were to do a picture story of what she did with Louis and send it back two days later.

Anna was so excited that she brought Louis wherever she went, and even to ballet too!

Hello there!

As you can see, this is baby Junior at 13.6 weeks according to the radiologist (30 Mar).

CRL - 88.8mm
Heart rate - 141 bpm

This was my first trimester ultrasound scanning. Suppose to do general check and the nuchal translucency thickness measurement to check for Trisomy 21. However, the first thing the radiologists said was, 'Baby is too big, can't do the measurement'.

Somehow, baby is bigger than expected gestation weeks. So instead of being just into my 13 weeks, I am probably late 13 and approaching 14 weeks. So be it then. The good thing is that instead of paying $160 for the whole process, I only had to pay $35 (covered by Medicare).

Both Anna and Josh were captivated for a while, after which they did not like the fact that I was stuck to the bench for so long. Btw, we saw something, then again, it might be too early to determine! Your guess is as good as mine.

Cinnamon Buns

They turned out very yummy and even Anna likes it. She almost never like cinnamon stuffs. As for Josh, anything goes.

Just tonight, I cooked lady fingers (okra) in bean paste. Knowing that Anna does not take okra, I had to cook another veg for her. Then I thought, why not give some for Josh to try. . . he did not complaint or spit out. The other day, he had some samosa and did not mind the spicyness! He is a easy boy to feed!

Mr Baker Tay

Spent last Saturday baking bread and making pizzas.

Bread:
1. Sausage rolls
2. Cinnamon buns
3. Custard buns

All turned out delicious and the right texture.

Why is this taken?

Saw the pic from Frank's download and was surprised. Not the bicycle but the fact that he took a pic of the bag of cut lemongrass instead of helping me throw the bag away. Took me 2 days to trim the lemongrass. Somehow this plant grows at a tremendous rate and when its leaf blades are long, they can cut you. Am concern cos Josh roam freely at the back when I put out the laundry and he plays with everything that he can put his hands on. Sigh!

Yummy-licious!

Josh thorougly enjoyed the chocolate cake! He kept going till we had to stop him and take him out of his high-chair. He actually screamed for more! That was too much sugar for the night.

My Birthday

We celebrated at home. Thank you Colleen for cooking the pasta and Frank for doing the lamb cutlets. I did nothing.

Josh @ 15 months

Thought I take a pic on his monthly birthday. Somehow, I have stopped recording his milestones/growth/developement.

Here goes:-
1. 13+ mths - appearance of 2 upper pre-molars and canines
2. 14 mths - appearance of 2 lower pre-molars
3. 13 mths - exercise his skills of climbing chairs
4. 13-14 mths - often used words: mum (not referring to me but food),
5. 14 mths - can wave bye-bye, action of fly-kiss,
can cuddle a baby/toy and give a kiss, pat-pat himself or anyone/anything.

On the whole, we felt that he is very expressive and can communicate his wants and desires. But these days, he has been driving me up the wall. Not sleeping much in the day and wants you to be and play with him.

Lauren's Party

Each time she comes back from a party, she would be telling me the stuffs she would like to have for her upcoming party.

Recently, she has been browsing these 2 party ideas book that I borrowed from the library. She has placed her orders! What can I say??

But she is still sitting on the fence - deciding between a fairy or ballerina party.

Good Friday

Brought the kids to Freo and just at the park, there was this huge bouncing castle that Anna insisted of going on. So, all three went on and they were there for almost a good 45min. Josh din quite enjoyed at the end cos he was a bit sleepy but Anna went on and on.

The Parade

After the children completed their creation, the two classes of Kindy came together and had an Easter Hat Parade! Some were excited whereas some cant wait to remove the hats. I must say, we all had fun. I also realised how with a little creative juice, we actually can create something out of almost nothing!

The Product!

Not too bad a creation for some cut papers, feathers and ribbons!

Easter Hat Making

On the Wednesday prior to Easter Sunday, the parents were invited to particpate and help their children create a Easter Hat! You are to bring mostly recycled materials, of course there were many parents who came really well-prepared, unlike us!

Anyhow, Anna and Frank had fun creating while I just sit back and did the minimum.
