Anna's 8th Birthday

I owe this celebration to Anna, was suppose to be held last year but postponed it till this year.  Almost wanted to make it small but she insisted.  So, it was planned just a week ahead, including birthday invite.

So, the cake was also very last minute.  Baked 2 days ahead and iced only on the day itself.

This turned out good again!  I am glad.

Anna's Ballet thus far

This was the last Ballet open house prior to the Grading Exams.

This was before Anna leaves for her audition.

On the Grading Exams day itself, minutes before they entered the Exams venue.  These were the girls in her group and all were dressed up appropriately.  They were rather anxious too.

Anna's Get Kids Afloat Programme (Dec 2010)

 Learning to Tack.

 Capsize drill - a must.

Preparing to launch the boat.

We had a good time at the beach.

Going to watch Anna sails on the last day.

That's her . . . sailing an optimist!

Anna's P1 Orientation on 21 Nov

Anna was seated according to her class and waiting for the rest of the classmates to arrive.  She is first on the class list since her name starts with an 'A'.  There is also another Anna in the same class.  I was with Josh but he kind of missed Anna and has asked for her.

Anna was fascinated by the Eco-garden just outside the classroom.  They had fun exploring the area and she insisted that I take a pic of her under the 'secret garden'.

Just collected the Primary One books for Anna.  She was so excited when looking through the box of textbooks, workbooks, activity books etc.

Primary 1 for Anna

Are you ready for P1?  I  have been asked the question several times.  It looks like many parents are anxious over it.  Well, I have already bought the school and PE uniform for fear of the long queue on Orientation day.  I have also order the books online since I cannot drop the form off at the bookshop.

School bag was purchased during the Expo Popular Sale (good price).  I guess what's left will be the school shoes, which I will only buy nearer the beginning of school term.

Am looking forward to the P1 Orientation this Saturday.  Anna will meet her new form teacher and classmates for next year!

Some pics from Father's Day Morning Tea

After showing all the gifts for Papa, Anna took off to the playground. As usual, she played with Lauren and Samantha. They are just as good friends despite the fact that she is not in the same class as them.

Its a joy to see their friendship growing.

Ballet Production

On the 23 August, Anna was involved in a ballet production entitled 'La Fille Mal Gardee (The Girl Runs Wild). Well, the little ones danced in the second Act as beautiful butterflies! The pics were taken prior to the performance with hair-do and make-up done by me (one who does not have any blusher nor lip-stick, I had to buy them! Can you imagine!). Anyway, she had loads of fun in the production, the ballet teacher has trained them well. It was an amazing effort on her part!

Anna's 5th Birthday

In lieu of Anna's upcoming birthday, she has decided to have a pet 'balloon cat' as one of her birthday present from us. Btw, we celebrated her birthday at the beach with BBQ and all. No pics unfortunately, left the CD in Singapore. Its amazing how much she has grown. . .

Mother's Day Gift

These are 3 items that Anna made for me in school:

1. A drawing of me and why she love me.
2. A corsage to be worn during the afternoon tea.
3. A necklace, made using clay and beads.

The children also made cupcakes and fairy bread for all the mothers. I must say the food look more attractive to the children and they all tucked in for a lovely afternoon tea!

Mother's Day Invitation

Anna made this invitation card for Mother's Day.

It amazed me by how much her drawing has improved over the last couple of months.

As you can see from the drawing that I am invited to afternoon tea. . .

Arts Festival

This year's Arts Festival was held on the last day of Term 1. The theme for Kindy was 'Living Things'. Anna was dressed up in a bright green dinosaurs, while her best friend, Lauren was a ladybug and Cassidy was a cute little bunny.

Louis The Lion

Louis was brought home by Anna two week ago for good behaviour in class. We were to do a picture story of what she did with Louis and send it back two days later.

Anna was so excited that she brought Louis wherever she went, and even to ballet too!

Lauren's Party

Birthday party at the park in Peppermint Grove. Anna having a good game of passing parcel.

Each time she comes back from a party, she would be telling me the stuffs she would like to have for her upcoming party.

Recently, she has been browsing these 2 party ideas book that I borrowed from the library. She has placed her orders! What can I say??

But she is still sitting on the fence - deciding between a fairy or ballerina party.

The Parade

After the children completed their creation, the two classes of Kindy came together and had an Easter Hat Parade! Some were excited whereas some cant wait to remove the hats. I must say, we all had fun. I also realised how with a little creative juice, we actually can create something out of almost nothing!

The Product!

Not too bad a creation for some cut papers, feathers and ribbons!

Easter Hat Making

On the Wednesday prior to Easter Sunday, the parents were invited to particpate and help their children create a Easter Hat! You are to bring mostly recycled materials, of course there were many parents who came really well-prepared, unlike us!

Anyhow, Anna and Frank had fun creating while I just sit back and did the minimum.

Yum Yum My Favourite, Papa

Frank trying to eat the last few sauage bun before we go back to Perth.

Well, remember the Prima Deli's shut-down due to some food-posioning? Anna was waiting patiently for the bakery to open again. Well, it did a few weeks before we had to go.

You could see that happiness/excitement in her face when she saw sausage buns again. Of course we bought from other shops as well, somehow she still prefers Prima Deli's
